Helen, contact the charitable organizations in your area and ask if they have or know of any grants for this situation.

Contact your local Area Agency on Aging. They subsidize adult day care for my husband and told me even Bill Gates would qualify for some services lol.
One of the great aspects of adult day is the benefit of social interactions.

Here in Massachusetts, the some of the Senior Centers have
ADC programs. Perhaps they would be cheaper?

In the alternate, even one or two days a week would help.

I think you could use some help. AD is cheaper than in home care. I wish I lived closer to one (it's 30 minutes away) cuz it would save mom some money.

Is there anything you can do to cut costs to afford the daycare? I know that's probably a bad question but I know there are sometimes people that say they don't have money to spend on X but they could if they really wanted to. Not saying this is you, but just making sure not. If you have money saved for your retirement - this is the perfect thing to use it for, IMHO.

My mom loved the Adult Day Care (ADC) arranged by the Area Agency on Aging. I think she liked riding the bus provided for her transportation in her wheelchair more then the actual ADC!
