Find Care & Housing
Reading these remarks, I can see my 91 yr old mom in each scenario. She thinks going to a doctor is a good thing, because her doctor gives her a kiss on her cheek. Coddles her and there is nothing wrong. She will not associate with people in a social circle, never has ~ always an excuse to avoid it. And, when she is not getting her required amount of attention ~ off to the hospital we go...testing done, nothing wrong. It is very frustrating ~ wish she would socialize with people in her senior building and stop feeling sorry for herself.  She has CHF, but I think she could live to be a 100 or more.
Oh, and she won’t take any meds that might help if she is depressed because according to her, she is not depressed.

She’s a hypochondriac? And she might think she can be cured of old age. So she feels thirty years old again.

A lot of people think old age and death can be cured. It can’t. It can be endured.

My husband had a hard time accepting that I’m permanently disabled. He finally got it and seems to have accepted it now.

Maybe your mom wants to flirt with the doc or is bored too. It’s an outing going to the doctor!
