Find Care & Housing
Odiep7, each State has their own rules and regulations. The norm seems to be if reimbursement is needed, then a lien will be placed on your Mom's house, and the lien will be for your Mom's half of the equity. Medicaid cannot touch your half of the equity.

Also, it depends on when your name was placed on the Deed. Most States uses a 5 year look back. If a grown child's name was place within that 5 year look back, Medicaid could possibly put a lien on the whole equity.

It is best to contact your State Medicaid office to see what is the norm for that State.
