I care for my mother in law full time. Any help I get from her daughter usually ends in her mentally abusing her. I need a break but I don't trust her. We do not meet the criteria for aid do to income. We make too much yet we can't afford any help. I am at the end of my rope.

Your income should not affect your MIL. Is someone telling you that since you live together that your income counts as hers or the total household income?

If this is the case, please consult an elder law/Medicaid specialist attorney that can help you get her the care she needs and you a break.

God bless you for caring for your MIL, may you find relief soon.

Where is your husband in this equation?

Has your MIL applied for Medicaid and been turned down?

Have you consulted with a certified eldercare attorney about how to get her qualified for assistance?
