I wasn't able to see the video but the reactions remind me of the commercials about caring for an elder. it is all rainbows and unicorns. Someone helping dad with a button or playing cards with mom as she lovingly appreciates the time her offspring are spending with her. Where is the elder who leaves the bathroom and smears poo everywhere? My coworker would play the messages her mother would leave for her...the woman was spitting obscenities at her...where is that senior? If life was like some of these videos no one would be on this site. People are here because they unknowingly stepped into one of the seven circles of Hell and want to know how to back out of it.

Although I think the video has good intentions, I think we people on the forum are the last who need that kind of video. WE are the ones who’re helping.

If anything, we need a video about the importance of not neglecting ourselves and that THAT’S the highest honor.

Thank you for posting the video. As a 70-year old caregiver for my husband with alzheimer's, and as someone who understands that I, too, may one day need to be cared for, I appreciated being reminded that while caregiving can be hard, demanding, exhausting, and thankless much of the time, there is honor, purpose, and even joy in caregiving, too. Caregivers are not monolithic. And while some would prefer a nature video, some of us appreciate the inspiration and beauty of a video such as this one.

Of course, every individual has their own opinion. Also you might be positive about the video, because you’re caring for your husband, someone you made vows too. Not your parent.
