Find Care & Housing
Paular, females can have a UTI and not know it as they might not have the typical symptoms you described. What you describe was similar to what happened to the elderly mother of my neighbor who had to be taken eventually to emergency and was found to be dehydrated and with a UTI. I strongly suggest you get her to Urgent Care or to her doctor. At a minimum call her doctor first thing on Tuesday morning. Best wishes for both of you

Paular, I would be quite concerned about the smell. A very strong smell to the urine could indicate a UTI (urinary track infection) which can impact her in many ways. Please get her to a doctor as quickly as you can. In terms of diapers get a larger than what you need size then add a Tena pad inside and you will have to change her more often. You don't want to let you lay on wet diapers and sheets as this could easily lead to pressure sores and if she gets that you have a much more difficult situation. You might also want to call the doctor and speak to a nurse and ask for suggestions.
I hope this all helps, Ron

I'm not answering just adding to it. I have tried about 5 kinds.....in large. Fit well but still have to change her pad or sheets everyday. I'm getting burnt out big time.. She has Tenas, she has an under pad, clean sheets and then overpad. Makes no diff. Pees everywhere. I don't get the stench either. It's horrendous smelling. Won't be back on here for a couple days. Thanks.

She has no pain, burning or itching. She still will get up and use the toilet but she goes thru long sleeping spells where she does not. I change her sheets and pads every other day, pads usually every day. I do check her everytime to make sure no rashes and so forth. Thanks for your advice.
