I did not experience your situation myself but some of the posters on here recommend seeing a geriatric psychiatrist to see about treatment for depression or anxiety.

I’m sorry you are faced with this and hope things improve for you and your mom.

Are you the primary caregiver? Does anyone have medical power of attorney to help her?

TeriA3, can you give us more details on please? Are you new to this forum? I get depressed trying to help my 95 year old mother who is fiercely independent. This forum helps. I got into an argument with my mother earlier tonight and I was crying in the card.,Screaming inside the card. Some of the people had answered back on what I had written earlier. I told them they kept me from jumping off a cliff because that is what I wanted to do after dealing with with my mother tonight. Depression hurts. I’ve had it in the past and took meds for it and I talked to a therapist and I joined this forum. Believe me, it all helps!!! The people on here are wonderful. I was in the middle of a crisis and read their posts back to me and I literally calmed right down. Do you know why? Because they have all been there. They have walked in my shoes and have empathy. Hugs to you.

More details would be helpful...are you asking about meds? Or something else? So sorry, it can be such a helpless feeling when you're trying to make life better for them and don't know where to begin or how to get them to see it themselves and want to deal with it. You are certainly not alone on this forum.
