Wholeheartedly agree with NeedHelpWithMom’s response. You don’t owe this person anything! Especially if undermining YOU, the caregiver.

Unfortunately have been undermined by my uncle, Mom’s baby brother, since Dad died 7 years ago. He knew Mom stayed out at diner all night, falling off stool - not her normal behavior. He didn’t tell me ANYTHING about this after it happened. Who would do that??? He’s always looking for a handout (he’s twice divorced, kids don’t bother with him) and Mom is free with her money, so I suspect she hands him cash.

Hoping your ‘friend’ isn’t taking advantage of your LO.

I would ask them to mind their own business if they are undermining you. Why are you friendly with this person? You don’t owe this person anything if they are hurtful to you. End the relationship.
