You want volunteers 12 to 24 hours per week on a long term basis?? For a bed bound woman? You might find sitters willing to be there for an hour here and there, but if you are able find what you hope for it would be a miracle.

Sorry, someone has to be hired. As one poster said you might get volunteers for a couple of hours to sit with someone. 12 to 24 hours per week is going to mean that the person is at some point having to help get them to the bathroom, etc.

That's too much to ask of volunteers.

If it's volunteer work I would think family is your best bet..

I agree with cwillie and irishboy. You wouldn't be able to find a volunteer to work that many hours, especially because the task is a difficult one. You would have to hire someone that would be strong enough to do the job. Good luck finding someone.

How about dropping her off at an adult daycare center.

She's bed-bound, Sorrynotsorry. I was thinking a CNA looking to work in the home would be the best bet. I don't know what they would charge in CA. They are fairly reasonable in Alabama.
