We have two wonderful caregivers that work in shifts to provide 24 hour care. The agency that they work for has just raised their rates to $32 per hour. I was wondering if this is standard? Would anyone else be willing to share how much they pay for care?

Find Care & Housing
I paid $25/hour three years ago to both an agency and a freelance caregiver. That was in Pasadena and was just for tiding me over for a couple of weeks before I moved my mother to a nursing home. I know my mom's neighbor also had a caregiver more recently and she said she was paying $20,000/month, which works out to about $28/hour.

I moved my mom to a nursing home in Pasadena and paid $12,000/month for skilled nursing for seven months. Then I moved her to a memory care facility in Orange County to be closer to me. She received FAR better care at the memory care, in a newer facility (80 years newer!) and we paid $8900 month.
