Dear Daisy,

I'm so sorry to hear this, has your dad considered if there are any other community or church resources that might assist with these costs. I've also heard of some seniors ordering their meds from Canada. I don't know how safe this is, but I would check with the town office and see if there are more resources in the community to access.

Several years ago my mother found herself in the same situation and could not pay for medication. I was able to apply directly to the drug manufacturers for FREE medications for her. What a blessing! It requires a bit of work filling out the form and having the doctor sign off and fax it off, but the turn around is fairly quick. The medication provided comes in a 90 day supply and is sent directly to the physicians office who will then contact you when the meds have arrived. Income guidelines do apply, but I found the income requirements to be quite reasonable. To get started just google the manufacturer of his medications along with "drug assistance program"....Good luck!

Try talking to the Dr. To see if there are cheaper alternatives?
Sometimes if you do 3 month at a time mail order prescriptions it's cheaper. I don't know if Medicare has an option like this.
www.GoodRX.com may help you find the lowest cost drugs in your area.
