My mom has such sensitive skin lately. It rips for nothing. She's only 65 but has the health and body of someone who's 80. Even bandaids hurt.

How can I help her out?

There's nothing you can do to stop the tearing. It's part of aging, although she seems awfully young for that to have started already.

The main thing is to get the kind of bandages that don't tear skin. You may have to consult her doctor, because I can't remember what they used on my mother.

Check with doc first, of course. I give my elder collagen and vitamin e supplements and its done wonders for the health of his skin. If it does tear at all (hardly ever), it heals quickly. Again, be sure to ask doc first.

I stopped using regular bandages even the ones for sensitive skin. I switched to the spray on or the brush on liquid bandages.
I sued them for even one of the bruises or "closed skin tears" that my Husband would get. Never had a problem with them opening up after that. And I did not have to deal with trying to keep him form picking off a bandage.
Many medications can cause this. Check with the pharmacy to see if anything she is taking can be the cause. (so much easier to talk to a pharmacist than it is a doctors office)
Keep her hydrated.
Topical skin moisturizers but use creams not lotions. Creams seem to penetrate deeper than a lotion.
Even a "barrier cream' that is intended to keep moisture (urine) from coming in contact with the skin will also keep moisture IN so that should help. things like A&D, Desitin or any of the diaper ointments should work well.
