I have been diagnosed as suffering from intermittent BPPV, causing severe vertigo and incapacitation. Am I eligible for disability payments or services of any kind, as it is now dangerous for me to leave my home?

Gunther, may I ask how long have your had Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo? It's my understanding that BPPV will go away on its own in one or two weeks.

I know that vertigo can be wicked, as I get it about once or twice a year. I have to keep on hand prescription Anti-vert if I should feel it coming on.

Have your doctors tried head exercises (Epley and Semont maneuvers)? These exercises will move those tiny particles out of the semicircular canals of your inner ear to a place where they will not cause vertigo. I've never tried it.
