Mom started peeing 100x/day!!! She is NOT incontinent. Her sleep is interrupted. Will have Urology appt in July to evaluate the urgency. Meanwhile, we parked a bedside commode next to her bed. I need a TP roll holder to attach. And a low privacy surround/curtain. Can't find accessories on Amazon, or even at a medical supply house. Not on Etsy, nowhere! I may just fashion one out of cardboard, or some frame upon which I can hang a curtain.

Find Care & Housing
I would take her to Urgent Care or the ER to discount a UTI first and foremost.

Sorry to all that I did not give background. Yes, we've done all the studies. Next is the Urology Dept in about 2 wks.

I just put in "toilet paper holder for bedside commode" and got a lot of hits.

Same with the screen, not a low one but I found a lot and prices range. Put in "Medical Privacy Screen"

I found both items on Amazon too.

It isn't possible for a human to pee 100 times a day. Does you mother have dementia? A common dementia behavior is believing they need to go to the bathroom over and over because they don't remember that they went five minutes before.Since your mom has been tested repearedly for a UTI and there is none found, the problem is mental. Her doctor can prescribe medication that can help her.

As for the possibility of being in a dementia loop. There's only one way to break one of those and that's to ignore it. Pay it no attention. Put her on a regular toileting schedule (every hour during the day to start), then ignore the other requests to go to the bathroom.
A good toileting schedule along with some anti-anxiety meds will be a big help.

If it’s not a dementia loop:

I could see this happening and it being NOT in her head.

I have interstitial cystitis that occasionally flares.

I have absolutely gone 25 times in one night, when the flares have been at their worst. So, what seems about a hundred times a day doesn’t seem wacky to me.

I have had every test in the books, at times. Urologists have shrugged their shoulders at me.

What has helped is to go on a low oxalate diet. It really helps to keep the flares to a minimum.

If she's peeing 100 times a day, she needs medical attention and a catheter.

There isn't enough residual to use a catheter, and at 100 years of age, a catheter could do more harm.

Peeing 100x a day is abnormal. Please take her to a doctor today or tomorrow and find out what is causing it.

This is not normal age related decline.

See my reply above. She's had thorough and ongoing workups. It is something that nobody has ever seen. Interstitial cystitis, severe, is considered going 60x, but this is double. Now, it has relaxed some w the lorazepam, but only but she is sleeping at night now.

How do we know there is not infection involved here. This is highly abnormal. You need to take Mom to ER in my humble opinion.

She's been repeatedly tested and negative for UTI since April, when this began. All negative. She was in the Walter Reed Hospital ER last week and put on a 5-day antibiotic, just in case, but no culture sent, as they too didn't see anything. Appt w Urology Dept is pending. Her NP and PCP are all following closely. Lorazepam helped some (new) bec she was sleeping, but it hasn't really abated. There is no mass, she had extensive ultrasound studies. A geriatric psychiatrist may agree w the lorazepam, as there could be a dementia "loop" that mom cannot escape.
